Standing for over 150 years, the Grade II listed Lizard Methodist Chapel building has been the focal point for community events spanning the generations.
Sadly, it is now closed and up for sale.
A group of committed Lizard villagers are trying to save it as a community space to continue to welcome people from all over the world to experience Cornish arts, heritage and enhance village life.
Lizard CATCH -Chapel of Arts, Theatre and Community Heritage is a registered charity, whose aim is to promote Cornish arts and culture in the most southerly village in mainland Britain.
The Vision
To promote Cornish arts, culture and community in the southern-most village in mainland Britain.
The Building
A galleried 250 seat Grade II listed chapel with facilities for concerts, exhibitions, a museum and café.
The challenge
To raise £200K to purchase the Lizard Methodist Chapel, enabling community groups and local artists to flourish, bring theatre and music productions to the peninsula and open a heritage museum to the public.
